Easter!

Our Easter morning was the usual Sunday morning for our house, but also included searching for hidden eggs after mass. After eggs were found, candy was eaten, playing began, and Dave and I prepared for an early supper with my family. Since Mother Nature decided to leave a nice little layer of horrendous beautiful snow for our Easter this year, we decided a meal was enough for the celebration. No filled plastic eggs were hidden repeatedly in the muddy back yard, and to be quite honest, I don't think the kids even noticed we left this part of Easter out. We'll just add it back in next year... maybe.

Drew's face here...stop...I can't handle this much cuteness!

thanks to Drew's godparents for the crown :)

ended the day with a little yoga. this girl has talent!
most of the time her hands were straight out, parallel to the floor...amazing balance :)

I'm trying to get in front of the camera more. It's hard. This is as good as it gets.
And of course, I love to have more photos with Dave :)  he kinda makes my heart go pitterpatter ;)
and then this happened... my whole life!
God is good. Thank you for all our blessings. We are *truly* so happy!

I completely forgot to add this last photo in on my eggs post. Here was the entire crew after decorating eggs. They're quite the bunch :)

eggs

Every year it happens. I forget about how much chaos revolves around coloring Easter eggs. I don't mind because it's only once a year. And the kids sure love it. But we never make it through a year without spilled coloring. Fighting over eggs. Broken eggs. Don't even *talk* about the broken and cracked eggs. Devastating! Regardless, these photos portray a peaceful coloring session. Full of smiles, laughter, love. Watch the video. Truth be told ;)
concentration-induced tongue
Drew was very into coloring eggs this year
no altercation happening here... somehow
baby's first Easter

and the video reveals the truth :)
lots going on here...bad videographer; scoulding the dog; Nash trying to get my attention; obnoxious noisemaker... I'll stop there!

We hope everyone had a blessed Easter! More of our Easter Sunday to come.

and He has Risen

I feel like I can now relate slightly with both my mom and my sister after a visit from the Easter Bunny this past Sunday. And maybe more so with my mother... First, Lia is very much like her aunt Casey... it's almost scary sometimes. While they are different in many ways, they are very much alike in the way where Easter eggs and baskets need to be at eye level. Or you will die before you find them. And you will curse Easter for the rest of your life.

On the other hand I can relate more with my mom. She had to go through this every year with Casey and of course I look forward to doing the same with Lia. I have very little patience for whining and when the whining escalates to tears... I give Dave the look and he steps in and does what he does best... calms the girls down... I need to work on my skills. In the meantime I'll just photograph the memories ;) Fortunate for us the Easter Bunny was lazy this year and all the baskets were on the table, thus only eggs needed to be found. Mom, shut it.

ANYWAY, Easter was great! Beautiful weather, lots of food, great company... and only a few tears shed.
