daily Smith fashion

Skort: hand-me-down from Lia (and Austyn)
(iffff I remember correctly, I think this was a Target purchase... over 8 years ago now... wow)

oink. boom.

The above photo clearly portrays how exhausting our weekend was over the 4th of July. This is how the weekend started...the radio blaring... outside enjoying the sun and water... and Nash goes up to the house to take a snoozzz. No lie... my kids will fall asleep ANYwhere.

my cousin's little boy

Pig roasts and bean bag toss (cornhole toss ... that's right...there is an "asssssociation" for this...) have become staples in our holiday weekends in Wisconsin. Things occasionally get "rowdy!"

Above: Luke, Tayt, and cousin's kids in the pool; my Dad and cousin; the pig(g)
Below: cousin's baby; Dave and cousin's uncle; cousins; cousin's son & Nash
After the pig(g) roast we traveled north to another partay in preparation for the fireworks. There was this adorable little fella there, and I needed to make myself stop taking photos of him because he was that adorable.
 Seriously! Look at that face...

...and then there is my child's face...yeah, that's how he rolls.

sooo.... last year there was this child we lost. I won't throw out any names but he's a child who is easily distracted, occasionally (frequently) drops the F. bomb, and punches. *pause* Yeah... you know that kid. ANYway... the local ball diamond is within eye sight of the house we're at. Said little child decided he'd go watch the game in progress. In the dark. You can imagine our concern. Lost child. A little bit of anxiousness for a bit. Solution: Pictured below. This year all the kids wore light up bracelets, headbands, anklets, necklaces, etc. No one was missed!

carnEEEEval!

A couple weeks ago we enjoyed our city's carnival. Fortunately it was so HOT we only made it up town for Saturday night. Unfortunately I have promised the kids we'll go to ANOTHER carnival because the big kids only got 1 ride each. Deprived children. I know.

Friends of ours came to visit with their children (4) and this was our attempt to get them all together. Pretty cute/hilarious!

top: Tayt, Austyn, Drew, Peyton holding Tylan (friend's baby)
bottom: Nash, Hayden (friend's #3), Lia, Ryder (friend's #1), Kenley (friend's #2)

Sunday was the annual parade to celebrate the carnival where we sit at Casey & Jake's. It's like trick-or-treating but not leaving your front yard! The only bad part... the weather was SO hot a lot of the candy just melted. Even so, our candy drawer didn't stay full very long. :)
behold... Father from Church :)

daily Smith fashion

note: tooth!
I had to include this last one even though it's blurry... that tongue... it's hilarious! She is always sticking that thing out.

Funny, smiley girl!
Drew
Onesie: zebra set (3) at Target
Headband: crochet head wrap at Claire's

also Note: We have problems with cute headbands... in that they dig into baby's heads so much...these headbands from Claire's are fabulous! The thick band is just the right size and doesn't leave marks or indentations in baby's skull! (only falls off kitchen chairs or beds do that) ;)

ZBB... enough said!

This last week Dave and I got not one but TWO! date nights. Dave begged me to go to see Zach Brown Band playing at Country Jam. I'm so glad we went. It was a blast and even Drew enjoyed it! I know, I know... leave the baby at home... well, the thing is... I don't pump. Period. No other option. We were prepared with sunscreen, blanket(s), pj's, skeeter spray, and even a stylin' pair of animal printed ear muffs of Casey's to protect her wee little ears. I failed to get a photo of Drew in said ear muffs but she didn't need them cause we were wayyyyy in the back... as you can see at my attempts to capture photos from wayyyyy in the back. :)

above - I almost ended my phone's life trying to get this shot but behold...
we got a good one FINALLY!

used my monster lens to get this :)
again with the monster lens... Zach Brown is to the right of that American flag

$6 lemonade  :|
