week 38/39/40

andddd just like that we're full term. 40 weeks. 40 weeks 1 day to be exact! I've been meaning to post these but just haven't made the time to sit down and actually follow through.

Today I had my last OB appointment. I'm not fully prepared for what's about to happen any day now, but I can't really do much about that. Ha! I'm very much looking forward to meeting this new little one. Finding out boy or girl. Seeing what he or she looks like. and praying that everything goes well and everyone is healthy during and after the birth.

baby Smith #8
due date: March 30 (Casey beat me… overachiever!)
weight gain: 45 pounds (oooops)

Many thanks to Lia for snapping this photo of me above. I'll miss that belly, but again, can't wait to meet you little one!

10/52

"a portrait of my children, once a week, every week, in 2014"
Peyton: hard to catch sitting.
Lia: recently began volleyball. mom is *not* happy about their 'uniform' bottoms. I may officially be a mom now.
Austyn: making leprechaun traps.
Tayt: it's all in those eyes.
Nash: wants to be just like his older brothers.
Drew: monkey see…
Meg: monkey do.
Duke: yes, we have a dog. no, I don't always like him. yes, he's a good dog. yes, I sometimes like him. entryway benches are his spot. and always an added bonus when the sun is out.

I'm going to go ahead and blame skipping a week on everyone being sick. Go ahead and thank me now for leaving the camera up and put away during that week.

I'm *really* hoping we see more of the sun in the weeks to come because it does amazing things for my camera… and our moods… and it just makes for better photos :)  ha!

ready for spring (and summer)

Part of last week and the entire week before that we were hit with the bug I thought we had missed this winter/spring season. I would rather deal with stuffy and runny noses and coughs than the flu bug, hands down. Butttt we weren't so lucky. Some of us were 'lucky' enough to go through all the symptoms twice… not as fun as it sounds!
The house was stocked tight with disinfectant wipes, random buckets, paper towel, Gatorade, water, popsicles…  you name it, we had it. While it was a quick 12 to 24 hour bug, by the time it made it through everyone (yes, alllllll nine of us), we were at almost 2 weeks. Being pregnant and sick, I was SO done with all of it by the time my second turn came around.

All that to say, we are extremely ready for spring. The weather is gradually increasing in warmth… slowly, very slowly… I can't wait until popsicles can be enjoyed outside in just diapers and the hot sun!

my kind of morning(s)

Saturday mornings with everyone home are few and far between. Mostly because Dave is working. And other times because the kids are at friends houses. Last Saturday we were lucky enough to have everyone home. Oh, how I love those mornings  :)
They were watching a music video together  :)

"a portrait of my children, once a week, every week, in 2014"
Peyton: recovering from a long night of Xbox.
Lia: mastering her mac n' cheese prep.
Austyn: searching for a baby name.
Tayt: breakfast.
Nash: not so good with mornings.
Drew: dressed herself.
Meg: The (newest) Beast.

I'm trying my darnedest to catch up on my 52 week photos. Yes, I realize it's less than 10 weeks into a new year, and I'm already behind butttt oh well. We've had a rough week so be glad you're getting this ;)

etsy Sunday

Finally feeling caught up around here (somehow), but now we're dealing with a sick Drew. Since she's spent most of the day on the couch sleeping, I figured I'd take advantage and get some blogging time in. And since we're pretty boring around here, why not do a little etsy browsing… or catching up… so here goes!

I love any kind of wooden rattle/toy for the kiddos. Just so darn cute! and rumor is, I'm having another baby…  ;)

Casey picked up a terrarium at a small shop that just recently opened near our hometown, and I love it. Either hanging or just sitting on the table… well, maybe not the table… Meg thinks that's here home… BUT somewhere in this house I would love to have one!

I am forever in love with this style tote bag.  *sigh*

My guess is these are extremely easy/light on the earlobes. And super cute to boot!

I think just about everyone I talk to is longing for spring… myself included. Wishing I was wearing this right now. My wardrobe is quickly becoming nonexistent in these last few weeks of pregnancy. This looks super comfy!

I've been searching on and off for a watch to wear semi-permanently. I would like one with military time for ambulance calls (I guess I'll need to perfect my military time… easy you say, just add 12… well, when you're in the back of an ambulance in complete chaos, sometimes adding a 12 is another crazy number that just isn't.gonna.happen! so having military time would just help my brain that much more… or not. ha!), and it would also need a secondhand on it for timing important things  ;) of course this is a 'man' watch. I seem to be an expert in picking out masculine things… I've never been very lady like…
*insert-I'm not a boyyyy!*

Now who doesn't love an Eames chair of any kind. Too bad they're crazy expensive! A couple years ago I found one similar to this one at an estate sale for 1$… granted, I'm not convinced it is an *official* Eames chair but it's pretty neat nonetheless. We take all of Homer's monthly photos in it. Love it!

I want a piece of jewelry with the kids' initials on it. I'm still not sure what, probably a necklace of some sort. But at the same time maybe not, I don't take my jewelry off very often. Regardless, I love these tiny, simple necklaces with just their first initial possibly :)

Now off to feed the animals. Hoping everyone is staying warm and healthy! and hoping for spring soon   :)
